Weekly Clay Classes & Subscription
Join us for a 2 hour session of ceramic hand building. Ideal for people of all experience levels and complete beginners, you can explore different techniques and building styles. The class is supervised by a staff member for the duration of your 2 hour session, and includes the use of selected studio materials, studio equipment and a selection of glazes and oxides.
Due to limited storage space, all fired work will be stored ready for collection for a maximum of 3 months.

Themed Workshops

Weaving Workshop
Start your exploration into the wonderful world of basketry and learn the calming art of coiled basket weaving.
Using natural raffia in a variety of colours, you will learn the calming, rhythmical technique of coiling, shaping, and finishing a woven vessel
Enjoy a couple of creative hours with a friendly group of people and discover different stitching techniques and using a variety of materials to set you on your journey of basket weaving.
Introduction to coiling, suitable for beginners.
All materials will be provided for the workshop along with complimentary hot and cold drinks.
This workshop will take place in the DM Ceramics Studio, which is ground floor with limited wheelchair accessibility.

Ceramic Taster
Session
A perfect introduction to studio ceramics. Join us for a 3 hour Taster session in ceramic where you will learn beginners Hand building and Throwing techniques. You will be shown techniques on the pottery wheel including how to center the clay, open up and pull walls, creating a cylinder form ideal for a mug, vase or pot. Followed by Hand building techniques where you will roll out your clay, add surface pattern/texture, form a mug or jug body using slab building techniques, followed by handle application. Your final pieces will then be dried, bisque fired and glazed with a glaze of your choice, and made ready for you to collect a few weeks later. All sessions include the use of studio equipment and complementary hot and cold drinks.
